We began the new year with the same passion for offering a space for people to join together, make new friends, eat together and share skills and learn new ones. Our usual activities were fully up and running again after a much needed Christmas break, giving our fantastic team of volunteers a chance to relax and recharge in readiness for the business of our outreach at Temple Park Centre.
It has been very special to meet new members to some of our groups - lunch club, toddler group and our new (this year) Dementia Friendly Café.
Our weekly prayer time, Thursday 9-9.30 allows time for reflection, praying for our community and hearing stories of Jesus and of his ministry walking alongside people in their ordinary lives.
We don't like to count our work in numbers but rather peoples experience of attending our sessions. One person attending the Warm Space on Thursday's said "I love coming here, I look forward to my breakfast, enjoy doing the crafts and everyone takes me for who I am"
Another person who attends the Lunch Club said "I'm so glad I started coming here, it's changed my life"
We have much planned for the coming year, a chance for us to share the love of God through the work we do, fostering a welcoming space for local people to gather, to grow in confidence, to learn, to volunteer and become a community within the community and support each other through our own journeys.
We could not do this work without working together with other local organisations, Sheffield City Council, The Methodist Church, The Church of England and the United Reformed Church, plus the many organisations and charities who contribute funds to support our work. Thank-you
